Catch Up Continued....

This past Sunday my oldest son turned 9. Can you believe it 9 years old? It seems just like yesterday we were playing in the ball pit at our house in Hughes Springs. He loved playing in that thing.

Payden is at that age where he loves his mom but doesn't want her around alot. That is the toughest thing I have gone through as a parent so far. I mean he was my first child and the first grandbaby on both sides of our families. Can't you just imagine how spoiled we had him. I would like him to be that little boy who couldn't make a move without me. Now don't get me wrong he is still a Momma's boy, but when Dad asks him if he wants to go do something he doesn't say no I want to stay with mom, he tells me, mom I'm going with Dad see ya later.

Now I know for Dads that's the days they look forward to. When their son can go and do everything they can. But what happens when Colby gets to that point. Where's that little girl I always wanted? What will I do? Sit at home and twiddle my thumbs while the boys are out hunting, fishing, and having father son bonding times? I know I can do all these things with them, but would that be selfish on my part? My boys mean the world to me and its scary to think about how fast they are growing up. Just the other day a friend said to me man I can't believe Payden is 9 he was only 4 years old when we met y'all. Ouch! I mean it just seems like yesterday. Cherish all the times you have with your children it passes so quickly you won't even remember yesterday.

Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6
