The Ultimate Healer....
My mom as most everyone knows has been fighting breast cancer for the last year. She had been being treated in a wonderful hospital in Baytown. She recently moved her journey to MD Anderson. I believe about 2 months ago she went there because her Dr. told her the cancer was to advanced for them there. After all the first initial testing at MD Anderson she was told she had 9 cancer tumors throughout her body. They started chemo immediately so that they could shrink those tumors enough to remove them and do a stem cell transplant. This Tuesday she returned back to do another PET scan to see if the tumors were small enough to continue on with the rest of her treatment. So mom called me Tuesday night and this is how our conversation went:
Andi what cha doing? (in a very soft low voice): nothing mom just fixin some dinner: Andi are you sitting down? : No mom, why do I need to? : Yes you do Andi : Have you talked to your sister? : No mom why do you ask? : Again she says are you sitting down? : No mom, what's wrong do I need to really sit down : In her low sadly voice she replied yes Andi you really do. : OK mom I'm sitting, what's wrong? What happened? : Well as you know I went to the Dr. today: Yeah, and? : They did another PET scan to see if the tumors were small enough to be removed and to begin with the transplant : Yes, and? : Well, with much hesitation...well then a loud scream THEY ARE ALL GONE! : What? What do you mean? : She said the doctor can not even see the tumors any more they are all gone! : OH MY GOODNESS! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! : I know Andi and I know that it is a miracle of God that is the only way that they could be gone without a trace. I know God took them from me and I felt it when he did. A weight was lifted.
As you could imagine we both shed tears of joy. Her journey is not over yet though. She will receive one more chemo treatment, and then on June 23rd she will receive the stem cell transplant. The doctors say that even though the tumors are gone the toxins are still invading her body. Hopefully with the stem cell transplant, she will have a much better chance of never having a re-occurrence. Please continue you to pray for her! The stem cell transplant is a tough thing to go through. She will be in the hospital for 2 weeks to a month and then 100 days of 24hr nursing care. So she will be at MD Anderson for 4 mths. Again thanks to everyone that has kept her in your prayers! This is a living testimony that prayers can and will be answered.

A Yummy Treat....
When I picked PayBo up from school today he had his TAKS test results. The note stated that Ms. Cunningham's class had 100% passing. Then it went on to say your child missed____out of 40 questions. Guess how many he missed? He missed ZERO! PayBo made a 100 on his Math TAKS. So of course I had to take him to get a little treat. And of course I had to get one for myself as well. I am so proud of him! God has blessed us with two terrific boys and for that I am thankful!WAY TO GO PAYBO!

Our Trip To Mexico...
As we are driving up Scott says it's going to look like we are going to a scary part of town but it's fine trust me. By this time we are thinking OMG what has Scott gotten us into. As we drive down Jefferson it is just like Mexico. The buildings are all bright colors, people walking around everywhere, and not to mention the Cinco De Mayo celebration going on. So we finally get there and got seated at very close arranged tables I might add. Of course the waiter comes up and starts talking in Spanish. So we both looked and Scott and Norma and told them what we wanted and they ordered for us. By the way they had some drinks there I have never heard of but they were strangely good. Norma had one called Rice Water don't ask me what was in it but it was good. Scott got one called watermelon water and it tasted just like the juice off a fresh watermelon. I had diet coke and Jim had tea. We are such risk takers aren't we!About the time we were through eating a mariachi band showed up and played some songs, people were walking around selling light up items, someone there making balloon animals I mean it was a complete Mexican experience . By the way the food was excellent and we both would definitely go back. With Scott & Norma of course because we speaky no spanish.

What We Will Do For Our Kids....
I say to everyone...GET ONE! They are sooooo much fun. We have played every night since we have had it. And I tell you what you will get the best workout. After the first night of playing I was so sore the next day. I think it is so much better than any gaming system made for kids. It gets them off there hineys and gets them moving! We even got my mother-in-law to play it and she had a blast! Here are a few pictures.

Catch Up Continued....
Payden is at that age where he loves his mom but doesn't want her around alot. That is the toughest thing I have gone through as a parent so far. I mean he was my first child and the first grandbaby on both sides of our families. Can't you just imagine how spoiled we had him. I would like him to be that little boy who couldn't make a move without me. Now don't get me wrong he is still a Momma's boy, but when Dad asks him if he wants to go do something he doesn't say no I want to stay with mom, he tells me, mom I'm going with Dad see ya later.
Now I know for Dads that's the days they look forward to. When their son can go and do everything they can. But what happens when Colby gets to that point. Where's that little girl I always wanted? What will I do? Sit at home and twiddle my thumbs while the boys are out hunting, fishing, and having father son bonding times? I know I can do all these things with them, but would that be selfish on my part? My boys mean the world to me and its scary to think about how fast they are growing up. Just the other day a friend said to me man I can't believe Payden is 9 he was only 4 years old when we met y'all. Ouch! I mean it just seems like yesterday. Cherish all the times you have with your children it passes so quickly you won't even remember yesterday.
Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it.
